A nappy bag is the British term used for diaper bag. A nappy bag is a functional item used to transport baby’s gear from one place to the next. It is a great tool to have around when any time is going to be spent outside of the home, from a short trip to the market to a day at grandmas.

Baby’s Gear

Baby’s should come with owner’s manuals there are so many thing that need to accompany a baby even on a short outing that a nappy bag is really a necessity more than a nice thing to have. Baby’s need to have diapers, wipes to clean up during a diaper change, bottles or other food options, change of clothes, small toys to keep them occupied, and a litany of other items “just in case”. Even the shortest of trips require the aforementioned items, because no one wants to get caught at one of the markets without extra diapers and a squalling baby in need of a change. Besides, who wants to leave their little darling uncomfortable?

What Does a Nappy Bag Do?

A nappy bag is a great way to tote around baby’s gear. They are usually designed quite conveniently with separate pockets dedicated to specific gear. Typically there are pockets for the diapers, wipes and special pockets built in for baby’s bottles. There are usually a couple of pockets reserved for the caregivers gear as well. They usually are well proportioned bags with two shoulder straps for carrying ease. Some nappy bags are made to be used for older babies that may still be in diapers but do not require as much gear to travel with them. These diaper bags are typically smaller and make room only for diapers, wipes and maybe some extra space so that the care giver can stash a wallet and a cell phone.

Styles

There are plenty of styles to choose from when it comes to a nappy bag. There are a variety of prints, from the very sweet baby inspired prints to very sophisticated prints. The nappy bag is generally lined with some type of water proof material on the inside. The nappy bag comes in all different styles and shapes. A big trend toward the designer nappy bag has recently took off and many of the well known designers have developed a model or two of the nappy bag. A designer nappy bag is usually quite expensive and honestly not worth the money, since baby’s are messy and so is there gear, a nappy bag should be more on the practical side.
